Welcome to Prometheus. My name is Jeff Watts, I'm the Business Development Director for Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd and Prometheus Complex Care Ltd. Prometheus was incorporated in late 2013, and as an organisation, we initially began trading under the name Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd, to offer secure patient transport within the mental health arena to both, the NHS and private organisations such as the Priory and Cygnet groups. Trading from a small office based in Erdington, Birmingham, Prometheus completed its first job for Birmingham and Solihull NHS Foundation Trust and quickly gained a reputation for a rapid, professional, secure, patient transport service.
Following our usually successful growth plan, Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd, within five years, dominated the Midland geographical area for secure patient transport with Birmingham and Solihull, Black Country, Coventry & Warwickshire and South Staffs and Shropshire, to name just a few who became clients of Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd. Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd growth continued at a rapid pace, with the introduction of a new and highly exciting arm of the group named Prometheus Complex Care Ltd.
Prometheus Complex Care Ltd supply highly-trained and specialised support-staff who provide care and observations of individuals within care settings, including hospitals and the community, such as Ofsted registered properties.
Our experienced registered mental health nurses and healthcare assistants make up a team who will provide any clients with a bespoke, wrap-around-service of person-centered care that takes a holistic and therapeutic approach.
Continuing our growth strategy further, Prometheus have no secured contracts with several police forces around the country to assist NHS Trusts and police forces by taking over the care and observation of individuals who are brought into a place of safety by the police under a 135, 136 warrant for an assessment. Our 136 project has been highly successful, returning thousands of hours back to the police forces to enable them to continue the good work that they do.
Today, Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd and Prometheus Complex Care Ltd are recognised as a leader in the field of secure patient transport and complex observational support, officially sanctioned as the largest secure patient transport provider in the UK by the Independent Ambulance Association. With over 650 registered mental health nurses and healthcare assistants and a huge back office-based administration team at our headquarters in the iconic Fort Dunlop building in Birmingham, it's easy to see why Prometheus is seen as the market leader in our field. Add to this offices in Warrington and Exeter, as well as 46 secure patient ambulances, and the size of the Prometheus group starts to become evident.
